Who We Are
Hope Legal Aid Company (Pvt) Ltd is a company run by a Board of Directors, of which some are lawyers by profession. It is registered under the Zimbabwe Laws and Regulations and its sole mandate is to provide legal service to those who cannot afford direct legal fees.
Hope Legal Aid Company (Pvt) Ltd prides itself as one of the frontrunners in the legal aid provision industry. We provide tailor-made, flexible, end-to-end packages which cater for both individuals and corporates countrywide, allowing us to give our customers the best service possible.
By combining a committed team of lawyers, financial experts and marketing gurus we have been able to devise strategies that allow beneficiaries to pay a modicum amount per month whilst having access to superior legal services. This is not a pyramid or a ponzi scheme where one borrows from Peter to pay Paul. Through our financial experts we have been able to create products that are self-sustainable whilecontributing to savings in Zimbabwe. Our products are therefore not ‘too good to be true’, they are practical products that are based on economic realities. Through synergies we have created with legal practitioners we are able to be more affordable yet retaining quality legal services. This is our edge.
What We Do
Almost without exception, all individuals will experience legal problems during the course of their lives. Legal rights do not distinguish between a highly skilled or a poorly skilled person, between rich or poor. Legal problems do not pick their victims. Our membership breakdown reflects this reality and cuts across the whole of Zimbabwe
Inequality and disregard for individual rights arise when there is an imbalance of bargaining power. Hope Legal brings that balance of power to the dispute. Our reputation is such that one phone call to our legal advisors is usually sufficient to bring most transgressors to their senses. When we have to act, we act with our full resources and win or lose, we cover the cost for our members.

You also get legal expenses cover of up to US$3 000, US$7 000 or US$10 000 per insured case – paid directly to the attorney. We pay as per the Hope Legal tariffs and conditions.

Mr. James Makiya
Executive Chairman
Mr. James Makiya is the company’s Executive Chairman and a respected legal practitioner. The senior partner of Makiya and Partners law firm, Mr. Makiya holds an LLBS (Hons) from Fort Hare University. Mr. Makiya has vast experience in the legal industry, having served as a legal officer at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. Mr. Makiya also served as a senior magistrate and sits on a number of company boards. He is married with four children.
Mr. Chandafira Pasipamire
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mr. Chandafira Pasipamire is the company CEO and a holder of a Diploma in Marketing Management (IMM) as well as a Diploma in Hotel Management (ICM) London. Mr. Pasipamire worked as an administrator in the army until his retirement to join the insurance industry. Prior to the founding of Hope Legal, he worked for Zim Trust Housing Development as the Director for Marketing. Mr. Pasipamire is married to Rosemary and is blessed with three children.
Mr. Spencer Mwale
Administrator
Mr. Spencer Mwale is the company’s Administrator. He is the man in charge of administration and finance. He has over 27 years working experience in Human Resources, finance, production, and general administration. A holder of qualifications in Human Resources Management and Business Leadership.
Mrs. Aletta Matsengarwodzi
Human Resources Manager
Mrs. Aletta Matsengarwodzi is the HR Manager. She holds a Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply (CIPS-UK) and a Bachelor in Social Work.
Ms. Rumbidzai Kumire
Head Marketing Manager
Ms. Rumbidzai Kumire is the Head Marketing Manager and is a holder of an LCCI Diploma in Marketing and a Certificate in Customer Care.

Ms. Erremina Chiriga
Harare Branch (Regional Manager for Harare, Mash East)
Ms. Erremina Chiriga is a qualified psychologist and the company’s Counsellor. She is also a marketing consultant in the Marketing department. Ms. Chiriga holds a Bsc in Psychology from the University of Zimbabwe. She worked for Michell & Mitchell’s Fresh Exports, Teechers Furnishers, and Royal Oil Services as the group marketing manager before she joined Hope Group in March 2016. She is a humble mother of 3 children.
Patience Ruwa Nyamapfene
Masvingo Branch (Regional Manager for Masvingo and Chiredzi)
Patience Ruwa Nyamapfene is a holder of a B.Comm Marketing Degree with Graduate School of Marketing SA (IMM). She worked for Michell & Mitchell’s Fresh Exports, Teechers Furnishers, and Royal Oil Services as the group marketing manager before she joined Hope Group in March 2016. She is a humble mother of three children.
Ms. Mercy Chikodze
Chinhoyi Branch (Branch Manager for Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West Province)
Ms. Mercy Chikodze is the Branch Manager at Chinhoyi, the central office for Mashonaland West Province. She holds an (Hons) Degree in Bcom Human Resources, Industrial and Labour Relations Management from Zimbabwe University. Ms. Chikodze worked as a branch clerk for Family Speciality Shop-TIENS ZIMBABWE until 2017 when she joined Hope Group of Companies. She is married and blessed with one child.
Constantine Manuhwa
Mutare Branch (Branch Manager for Mutare)
Constantine Manuhwa is the Branch Manager for Mutare. He is a holder of an LCCI Diploma in Marketing and a widely experienced marketer, having worked for a number of companies both in and outside of the country.
Mr. Honest Mazhandu
Bulawayo Branch (Branch Manager for Bulawayo)
Mr. Honest Mazhandu is the Branch Manager for Bulawayo. He holds a Bachelor of Information Technology Honours Degree (BITH). He is also a holder of a certificate in Risk Management.
